Lighting and Camera Tests……

Wednesday afternoon we did some test shooting for Episodes 2 and 4 so that we are not just walking blind on to the sets of the episodes and have developed are understanding of what is going on with each scene in terms of directors vision and any possible technical limitations.

Episode 4 was a very long process but this was less to do with the camera work for the scene and more to do with light positioning and the effects that Katherine want to achieve on her set, although we have taken a few pictures and know thanks to Holley and are own knowledge that the colours with in the scene can be enhanced and improved to give the footage more contrast between the light and the dark.

Episode 2 on the other hand has two very specific camera tests that need to be looked at the main one is the low angle shot that need us to take the camera off of the trip pod, as we can’t lower the tri pod low enough to get the angle Ronald wants.
As such we are now aware of this limitation and we are currently planning to use a board resting on the knees of a camera operator to keep the camera stable while we film the one scene, the other key factor will be the muscle strength of are camera operator muscles to stay in the position long enough to get the shot right for what Ronald wants and to keep it all statement.
